Barona Murals
Overview
Betsy Schulz completed two large sculptural murals framing the entrance to the
Barona Band of Mission Indian’s government building. She researched the tribes
history and customs through their museum and attended many meetings with
the tribal council to review various design options. In the end, the murals
sensitively depict the freedom of spirit and resourcefulness of the tribe’s way of
life and respect for the natural world.
